The Paisley Power rat aprons have been included in an article by eNCA, the first 24-hour news channel in South Africa. They have included a link to my WordPress blog post about my handmade paisley rat aprons and also a link to my @paisleypat twitter post about the café lunch at San Francisco Dungeon. It’s great to see a UK-made garment for an event in US, receive media coverage in South Africa.
The eNCA news article gives details of the Rat Cafe at San Francisco Dungeon, which was launched on 1st July 2017. The pop-up cafe events received extensive media coverage worldwide including BBC World Service – Business Matters. I was pleased to make (and donate) the aprons exclusively for the events which were organised by Rattie Ratz, a rat-rescue charity in California, US.
Here is a pic of one of the aprons that is made from my hand-drawn fabric design. I drew rat-shaped silhouettes and then drew a paisley pattern around them to link them together. The apron was sewn by my friend Zoe. It is made from eco-canvas, which is a polyester canvas fabric that has 45% recycled content. A school art teacher in Manchester has recently ordered one from the PaisleyPowerShop to wear when she starts teaching her classes in September.
If you want to look stylish and original in the kitchen, classroom, art workshop or garden, treat yourself to one of these unique aprons. Live rats not included!
